How to Find Keywords For a Website? Allow Me To Demonstrate.

Did you know that there are over 600 million websites and counting on the World Wide Web?

People all over the world are seeing the importance of having a website so because of that, the market is becoming more competitive than ever.

However even with that heavy market, anyone can still get their websites on the first page of Google and that my friend, is by learning about Keywords and SEO.

What are keywords and What Does it Have to Do With SEO?

SEO stands for Search Engine Optimization and it just a practice that anyone can apply in order to get their website on the first page of Google.

So you know now that if your website can leverage SEO, you know the secret on ranking high.

Keywords on the other hand, are highly-searched terms that people type in the Google search bar.

Things like “Dating” or “How to eat raw egg” so if you’re wondering, YES a sentence is also a keyword!

Keywords are one of the highly important factors that contribute to a successful SEO practice so it is important to know about leveraging them.

Why Look For Keywords?

Keywords can help a website in many ways unimaginable so before we get started on the technicalities, here are some cool benefits that will blow you away:

  • Keywords are easily the most important aspect of a successful SEO practice because they are exact words searched by people.
  • Keywords can help your website get into a competitive niche by slipping through the line.
  • Keywords can help not only your website, but ANY other marketing or online campaigns you’re working on.
  • Out of ideas on what to write? Keywords helps bloggers find 95% on new ideas to write on!
  • Leveraging keywords can also help boost your social media profiles.

Will You Get on the First Page of Google Immediately?

This is a question I often get and the answer to that is No, you won’t.

The reason for this is simple, Google takes time to send it’s spiders to crawl your website and that is why it is important to write content often because the more often you publish, the more frequent Google visits your site and index it.

ONLY when Google has indexed your site, will it finally come out on Google search.

So you know now that even if you have already finished writing your article and clicked on that “Publish” button, it will actually take some time for Google to come over.

If you’re wondering as to how Google come to your site, it’s by sending the Google spiders to crawl and gather data.

And how long will it take usually for Google to index your site?

About a week or two depending in how often you update your website.

I write blog posts daily so Google indexes my website once in 2 days which is pretty fast.

Getting hyped up on how to maximize your website traffic?

I know you must be dying to find out…

What Do You Need To Look For in a Keyword?

The idea when searching for a keyword is simple – You just need to know the average monthly searches and the competition.

When it comes to monthly searches, those are your expected traffic (website visitors) so the more is always better.

But bear in mind that no matter how much traffic there are, nobody will find your website if the competition is high because of course there are always going to be competitors who are way established than you and that’s why you need to learn about the QSR.

QSR stands for Quoted Search Results which just means the number of competing websites.

The idea when looking for competitors is that the lesser the better because you want to target a specific niche where you can be the monopolizing website where the majority of the traffic will go to you.

That that you know what to look for when searching for keywords, I’m sure you’re dying to know of…

How to Leverage Keywords to Boost Your Website?

In order to research for keywords, you need a keyword planner and the best one so far is Jaaxy because it saves time, it’s more accurate and it also gives you more choices for better keywords.

Google also has a keyword planner of its own but it is not very accurate and it is more time consuming which is why I wouldn’t advise you on using it. (Here’s my blog post on Google Keyword Planner)

Here’s a random search that I’ve made through Jaaxy on a keyword “How to make ice cream”…

How to make an ice cream Jaaxy search

So what do you see from search results?

For that particular keyword that I have searched, I found out that there are about 8,967 people searching for that exact keyword and the number of competitors (QSR) is 238.

Although there is a HUGE monthly search, we also know that the competition is really high which is a problem for us but one thing about Jaaxy is that it also gives you other choices of keywords you can choose from.

If you look at the last keyword from the image above, “How to make ice cream from home” has 3963 searches BUT there are only 8 competitors!

This is a gold mine right here whereby if you write about this particular keyword, you can literally get on the first page of Google because remember, there are only 10 websites per page on that Google search results.

Have a keyword that you’ve been meaning to research on?

Have a go at it here…

Conclusion

Finding keywords is really fun as you get to learn what most people are thinking.

No matter how many searches a keyword has, as long as you don’t get greedy and go into a highly competitive keyword, you can literally rank anything you want on the first page of Google!

  1. Have you ever considered about including a little bit more than just your articles?
I mean, what you say is valuable and all. But just imagine if you added some great
images or videos to give your posts more,
“pop”! Your content is excellent but with pics and videos, this
website could certainly be one of the best in its niche.

    Very good blog!
