Not many are aware of this but Twitter does in fact have a search engine.
It can be used to find anything related to Twitter such as tweets by Starbucks and Pizza Hut, or even tweets by people living near your area.
To understand why we need this, let’s have a look back at what Twitter is all about.
What is Twitter?
It is a social media platform very much like Facebook BUT with a restriction of having only 140 characters maximum.
We normally use it to make short personal comments or statements about something and unlike Facebook, Twitter doesn’t have ads bombarding you all the time.
And if you’re wondering, NO! Twitter is not owned by Facebook although Instagram is.
Why should we use Twitter Search Engine?
1)Track competitors
Twitter search engine helps you find tweets and everything relating to the competitor’s Twitter accounts which Google doesn’t provide.
Having to stalk to competitor using Twitter means that there is no escape for them from you so you can be aware of every move your competitor takes.
2) Laser targeting specific markets
The Twitter search engine also allows you to find people around you, even down to the small details like location so you can target your market better.
But of course, the Twittter search engine only works from within Twitter, you can’t use it for anything else.
3) Stalk employees!
You never know what employees talk about behind your back, especially if you know how bad you’ve treated them.
OR, you can use this as a surprise for you employees for their good behavior and optimism.
Either way, it doesn’t hurt getting to know what people talk about you whether good or bad.
Who should use Twitter Search Engine?
Everyone should! If you’re a newbie, you can use the Twitter Search engine to find people that connects to you better and make more connections.
If you have a business, you can use Twitter to study your market, your competition, do some corporate networking, improve your image, and have some fun so.
So unless you want to use Twitter just for the sake of putting your name there, there’s no reason for you not to use the Twitter Search Engine so go ahead and get moving!
